Disturbing the peace

Wycheproof Youth Group  has been busy planning the annual Disturbing the Peace Freeza Event at the Mt Wycheproof Race Course on Sunday 12 March. This is a major event on the local calendar. This year’s featured  DJ is Benny B.
The event is strictly for school-age teenagers in years 7 to 12. It is a drug and alcohol free event. For info see DTP Facebook page at www.facebook.com/wycheproofdtp2017

Fifth annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving service

After a long and bumper harvest it seems fitting that the combined churches will host a thanksgiving service  at Centenary Park on Sunday 26 February at 11am. 
Wycheproof VISION will host a barbecue lunch with proceeds going to WV projects. All welcome.

Festival
 Thanks to all who participated in the Mt Wycheproof Cup weekend Broadway Festival . It was great to see Broadway abuzz on Sunday morning. Stall holders and businesses indicated they were pleased with the morning’s activities. Music by the talented Koen Phyland was enjoyed by all.

  Mt Wycheproof Cup weekend Broadway Festival on Sunday 30 October: a festival of fine food from Wycheproof businesses, plant and craft stalls and music.  An initiative of the Wycheproof Chamber of Commerce.

Clean up town blocks
Buloke Council will begin its annual fire hazard inspections in townships the first week of October.If properties are overgrown or are a hazard, owners could receive a Fire Prevention Notice and face a fine. Grass should be slashed to 100m height, loose timber stacked and flammable rubbish removed.

Celebrating 125 years : Wycheproof Agricultural Show
A great afternoon of entertainment is planned for this year’s milestone Wycheproof Show marking 125 years.
Highlights will include:
  • · Mens Scone Cook-off
  • · Decorated Bra competition a fundraiser for the Wycheproof Cancer Support Group. Entry fee $3 per bra
  • · See Eddie Freeman, a world champion chainsaw sculptor produce marvellous animals from large blocks of wood. Some sculptures will be on sale on the day.
  • · Parkers Mini Circus features performing birds, rabbits, Alfie the clown, trick cyclist puppets and games. The circus is the only show of its kind in Australia.
  • · The ever popular Ray Dalton is back to judge the Antiques and Collectables section in the Miscellaneous Pavilion. He will be available during the afternoon to appraise antique items.
  • ·  Scarecrow competition various sections. Sponsored by Wycheproof VISION 

The first 100 people who buy their membership ticket prior to the Show will receive a special show-bag. The calico bag full of goodies features the new logo specially designed by Steff Mill for the 125th Show.

Rev. David Thompson Uniting Church minister
The Uniting Church of the North Central Living Waters Cluster incorporating the churches of  Birchip, Donald, St Arnaud-Stuart Mill, and Wycheproof welcomes Rev. David Thompson, and his wife Kate.  They will be taking up residence in Donald but lead worship and undertake pastoral work throughout the whole area. 
Rev. Thompson will lead his first worship service in the Cluster on  Sunday 16 October 9am at Birchip and later that morning at 11am at Wycheproof. The Wycheproof Uniting Church congregation welcome all visitors to this service. 
On Sunday 23 October at 2pm a special service of induction into our Loddon Mallee Presbytery and our Cluster will be held at Donald. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and there will be an opportunity to meet Rev. Thompson over refreshments.

Community courses
The Term 3 Wycheproof Community Resource Centre flyer is brimming with information on courses and activities in Wycheproof  in August.
  •  To keep fit there is a choice between Body Bar, Yoga, Step Box and Boxercise.
  •  To keep up with the latest see the beginner courses on how to use Facebook and Instagram. 
  •  To enhance your workplace skills there is First Aid certificate and CPR training from MADEC
  •  Looking for a career change a Cert 3 in Individual Support (Ageing) 12 month course offered through Murray ACE at WCRC.
  •  Also on offer are work skill workshops on areas from office computer software programs, to barista training  and food handlers course.

Wycheproof Community Resource Centre with Swan Hill Rural City Council presents Minecraft at WCRC on Friday 1 July from 1pm to 4pm for primary school age student, registrations essential. W-NFC goods and services auction


Demon's 2016 Goods & Services Auction, 
Saturday 2 July at the Demons’ Clubrooms starting 7pm. There will be 146 items for auction on the night. 





Golf for beginners

Men and women seeking to learn a new sport or improve their golf at invited to the 4 by 2 golf sessions (4-weeks of 2-hour sessions) hosted by Golf Victoria at the Wycheproof Golf Course. Sessions start 3pm-5pm and cost $5 per session. To book contact Rhonda at MSA on 54937796

A Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT) Save your Bacon barbecue breakfast will be held at Wycheproof Hardware on Thursday 7 July  from 7am –8am











Rock Up Netball is returning! 
Sessions start again on Thursday 14 July 10.00-11.00am at Wycheproof-Narraport Netball courts (if raining sessions are transferred to stadium at Wycheproof P-12 College). Sessions are $5. For more info see: www.rockupnetball.com.au
